Bill O'Reilly Sits In The Cat Bird Seat, With Master Plan

Copyright. "The Thought Spigot"
Love him, or hate him, Bill O'Reilly is truly a master at what he does, on "The No Spin Zone," on the Fox Channel. The man has vast knowledge, does his research, (as a rule) utilizes his opinions without to much conservative/liberal partisanship (on President Obama), and he has the vast power, of the most watched cable show, on television (for the last 8 years). "The Factor," is killing the cable outlets news shows, and is now competing with CBS, NBC, and ABC, at the prime time slots (something which has never happened before). However, the main focus on O'Reilly's genius, regarding President Barack Obama, is his reason for performing a "Barbaro," in passing the competition.

About four to five months, pre-election, Mr. O'Reilly was neutral on Barack Obama, his policies, and the overall outlook. Instead of Bill giving his opinion, or putting himself on the record, he has people like Glenn Beck, Michelle Malkin, and others to do it for him. This is allowing "The Factor" to continue to make points on President Obama, but Bill is not putting himself out there (on the President falling numbers and big decisions). His interview with Barack (before the election), was more soft ball, than the normal hard hitting interviews (see the O'Reilly vs. Barney Frank interview/fight, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAuOEdttjZQ). Before the election and after the interview, O'Reilly still continued to play the middle of the road, keeping his core Republicans watching and the smaller portion of Independents, Democrats, and others. Then he ditched the "Factor," on the radio, to concentrate on just one solid hour, in prime time. This choice allowed him to not be live, for three hours, five days a week, where a gaff, partisan speak and/or Barack bashing would be an easy slip up (as in my opinion, he is no Obama fan).

Barack Obama then became President of the United States, but O'Reilly did not fall into the trap of picking a side, hammering him (like Shawn Hannity) or "getting a tingling feeling up his leg," (like Chris Mathews). Pre-election, on MSNBC, Chris Mathews "Hardball," with the rest of MSNBC and most of CNN jumped at the chance to take sides and root for the new President (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izjJRkDFcYA). However, while the country continued to turn the channel from the print media, prime time news, MSNBC and CNN, to "The Factor." His ratings naturally shot off the charts shot off the charts. Staying (for the most part) neutral on Obama and all he brings to the country, he is now enjoying six million viewers a night, ranking second on all of cable television, while MSNBC and CNN are in the mid to late twenties. O'Reilly is truly in the cat bird seat, as he is watches Barack Obama's numbers on Health Care and the country having a percentage of 40% who "Strongly Oppose" Obama's running of the country (while 28% strongly agree). As he has not taken any sides, on Obama himself, Bill O'Reilly can now do what all the other channels cannot (without flip flopping), and that is to be able to have a 100% fresh opinion (one way, or another, good, or bad) on Obama's "Cap and Trade," "Universal/Public Government Option Health Care." The farther he drops in the polls, the more O'Reilly can hammer away, because he was the only one who did not voice an actual opinion.

In his most recent article (on August 20, 2009), on President Obama, O'Reilly said, "It has been a rough summer for Mr. Obama. The economy continues to wobble, the Afghan war is brutal, and the health care chaos has diminished the president in the eyes of many Americans. His leadership on that vital issue has been inconsistent and, at times, downright confusing." Like on "The Factor," O'Reilly stays clear of "Hannity and Rush Limbaugh tactics, and just states facts, as the bills (the six from Democrats and three from Republicans, on health care) do not have specifics and congressmen/Senators do not have the numbers for the public. O'Reilly continues, in the same article, "I believe it is important that no one yell at President Obama during his vacation. He has certainly had enough of that recently. He needs some peace-some down time. He needs to recharge using the Vineyard sun and wind. The president must get away from talk radio, tea bag protesters, and cap and trade." These subtle tactics, with just facts, polls, and letting the pundits (Glenn Beck, Malkin http://hotair.com/, Juan Williams and others) to do the work for him.

Although, Obama's vacation and time table to produce two major bills is almost upon him, and O'Reilly will be able to say "I was for Barack Obama, and wanted him to succeed" (which he has actually said, on his web site http://www.foxnews.com/bios/talent/oreilly/ and on "The Factor." There is a reason why Bill O'Reilly and Fox News (http://foxnews.com/) are the most powerful and hated (by liberals and some others) television channel, and they have had the correct plan all along. O'Reilly has been stating the facts, polls, and has not been critical of Obama at all (if you watch his show). The day of reckoning for Barack Obama is almost here, and Bill is in a win-win situation. Whether he (Obama) becomes the next JFK, or he becomes the President who bankrupted and killed the country, O'Reilly will only get stronger and stronger, with better ratings. Bottom line, Bill O'Reilly is already number one, and now he is headed (in the next 4-6 months) to stardom seldom seen by news men/women. If the country was not so partisan and divided, he would become the next Walter Cronkite, or Dan Rather (before he showed his liberal spots, in everything). As long as Bill stays away from the "power trip," quits constantly quoting how good his numbers/ratings are, and stays away from the "blondes of Fox News," he simply can't lose.

SUNDAY MORNING SHOWS LEAVE MORE QUESTIONS

Every Sunday, there are three major news/opinion shows of record: "Meet The Press," "Sunday With Chris Wallace," and "This Week With George Stephanopoulos." These shows, every week, have the most controversial and important news events of the week, and are filled with countless Congressmen, Senators, military people, pundits, and even past cabinet members. However, these television shows are important and are supposed to be filled with complete journalistic integrity, without moderators showing partiality. As these three shows are not opinion/op. ed., and the hosts are to be the same, just posing questions and facts, doing there very best to not be partial, partisan, or using "soft ball questions" on some, hammering others.

These three television programs, this past Sunday, was filled with a great topic (Health Care/Universal Health Care/Health Care Reform, depending on whom you ask, to explain the topic name). On "Meet The Press," anchored by David Gregory, had Sen. Charles Schumer and Sen. Orin Hatch debating. On "Sunday With Chris Wallace (on Fox)" Sen. Arlen Specter and two people from the V. A. (talking about the "Death Care/End of Life Choices" brochure, which is still on the VA web site ( http://www.va.gov/ ). Last, but not least, Clinton Appointee "George Stephanopoulos" had Sen. John McCain, who spoke on the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, plus health care.

There are bills from the Democrats (4-6), (3) from the Republicans, but there are no bills on Health Care Reform from President Obama. Obama has given the whole "Health Care Reform" chore, to everyone but himself, even though health care is 15-20% (depending on what happens and how much is spent in the current situation). The American people are finally starting to wake up to what the problems of revamping the whole health care system, the fact Republicans have been locked out of talks (like with Tarp 2, Omnibus, and the other bills passed since Obama has become President of the United States), and how important every choice is becoming for the country and it's people. Therefore, anyone reading this should try to figure out what makes more sense, in the following quotes (I did not go with every person who was on the Sunday shows, as they mostly stuck to "talking points", but I did pick three out from the President and John McCain):

1. Barack Obama has seemed to back away from the "public option on health care," but refuses to say he will not rule it out completely, in 2009. However, this is what he said on November 22, 2004, in an interview with Randi Rhodes (a personality on Air America, conducted on http://youtube.com/). Obama said, "When you rush these budgets that are a foot high and nobody has any idea what's in them and nobody has read them, it gets rushed through without any clear deliberation, or debate. Then these kinds of things happen, and I think that this is in some ways what happened to the Patriot Act. I mean you remember that there was no real debate about that. It was so quick, after 9/11, that it was introduced people felt very intimidated by the administration.

2. Recently in an interview, on the radio, with Michael Smerconish, Barack Obama said this, "I am confident we will get it (health care) done, and as far as negotiations with the Republicans, my attitude has ALWAYS been let's see if we can get this done, with some consensus. I would love to have more Republicans engaged in the process. I think early on they (Republicans and Independents) a decision was made by the Republican leadership, to not give anything and maybe we can get a replay of the 1993 health care bill." (the 1993 "HillaryCare Bill" was defeated and the Republicans took control of the House and Senate, in 1994)

3. John McCain said, "Now would be a good time, as the President's numbers are falling fast on health care. To get both parties, with the President, together. Realize, Obama has NO PLAN. They have been made by the congress and Senate, but NOT with the Administration. Then we can all sit down and speak our minds and our pieces, then Obama can say WHAT HE WANTS."

After reading this and watching the Sunday shows (what people from all parties said, if you did), who sounds and is showing leadership here? President Obama has said, several times, "I do not care if it takes 15 to 20 years to get 'Universal Health Care', if it is not passed soon." Then there is the lack of details, numbers, and the fact nobody has given the overall, CONCRETE outlook on how much this will all cost. Americans must continue to look at this issue, and make sure it is what you wish. The people from the V. A. talked about "End of Life Issues," because of being in a wheel chair, possibly having post traumatic stress (one of the questions is actually, "can you not shake the blues"), and some other things in black and white (on the V. A. web site above). There is no time, but the present, to make sure the government and Barack Obama (who doesn't have a bill, or really any specifics, to his name) do not take the country into a slope of "If you are not worth anything to the government, then you should just die." Only you can do the research, read the web site ( http://whitehouse.gov/), and arm yourself with knowledge and wisdom.
